Plastic injection molding of Injection Masterbatch involves both injection and molding, and it is therefore also referred to as injection molding. The so-called injection molding is to feed the formula material into the barrel from the hopper of the injection machine. After heating and melt plasticizing, under the pressure of the plunger or the screw, the material is compressed and moved forward, passing through the nozzle of the barrel. The speed is quickly injected into the closed mold cavity of lower temperature to maintain the pressure. After cooling for a certain period of time, the mold is opened and the product is processed. This method is applicable to all thermoplastic resins and some thermosetting resins.
The time for the injection molding machine to complete an injection molding operation is called the injection molding cycle. One molding cycle includes: feeding, pre-molding, die-molding, holding pressure, cooling time, and time for mold opening, demoulding, mold closing, and auxiliary work. A continuous injection operation is a cyclic process.
The advantages of the injection molding process are as follows.
First, high efficiency. The parts need no further modification or processing, production automation, short cycle, and the same product can be repeatedly produced in large quantities.
Second, the adaptability of almost all thermoplastic resins can be processed by injection molding process.
Third, the quality is stable. Product shape and size consistency can adapt to the molding of complex shape structure products; change the color of the product without changing the mold.
Fourth, the flexibility is only need to change the mold to adapt to different shapes and sizes of parts.
The insufficiency of the plastic injection molding process is that the equipment is expensive, and the initial investment is relatively large; the mold structure is complicated, the production cost is high, and it is not suitable for one small batch production.
With the development of injection molding technology, many new injection technologies and processes continue to emerge: micro-injection technology, co-injection (two-color /how much injection) technology, gas / water injection process, etc.
